How did you use new media technologies in the research, planning, construction and evaluation stages?

Evaluation PART FOUR [Draft]

This is the full version of our evaluation of the work that we created for our music video:

Evaluation PART THREE

Here I have discussed the combination between all three of my products. As the connection between the three products is so important, it is something my partner and I kept in mind throughout the project. Here you can see where the links are and why they are actually there.

Evaluation PART TWO

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My partner and I created a YouTube video in which we spoke about things like narrative, genre, camera, angle, shot types, editing techniques and mise-en-scene. This video can be seen below:

Evaluation PART ONE

We were working towards a brief from SC Records that wanted us to manage the promotion of a new act. The chosen new act was Jasmine, who sung a song initially called 'Let U Go'. The brief stated that we should create a music video, digipak and a magazine advertisement to promote the digipak.

The original artist is named Thicke. This a girl group that my partner and I found on unsigned.com. This website features artists of all genres, so we looked at the genres that we liked and found many artists. What caught our attention from Thicke was their song 'Let U Go' - we liked the beats and had many ideas springing from our heads immediately. The girl group had an email that we earnt permission through and we were pleased to receive confirmation from them saying that we could use their song!

The genre of the song is R&B. It is a break up song so with the theme of love, we could definitely appeal to a particular target audience, teenagers, as well as a broader one, adults and kids. We chose to make our artist mainly market themselves at teenagers through speaking about the hardships of love, however we did not avoid other potential markets as anyone can relate to these situations.
